Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are happy to be expecting another baby.
The “Umbrella” superstar revealed she’s expecting a third child with the rapper at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City on May 5, and a source tells PEOPLE the pregnancy marks a bright moment for the couple following the end of Rocky’s gun trial in February.
“His trial was a dark cloud. It was very stressful for both of them,” says the source, months after a jury acquitted Rocky of two charges of felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm after he was accused of firing a handgun at his former friend and A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli in a November 2021 altercation.

“They feel very blessed,” adds the source, noting that Rihanna “look amazing and very happy,” while Rocky “takes the best care of her.”
Since the trial ended, the source says the couple has “had some time to decompress and just focus on family time.”
“Rihanna’s a great mom. She loves playing with the kids,” continues the source. “He’s such a playful dad too. They were hoping for another baby.”
The “Rude Boy” singer revealed her pregnancy ahead of the Met Gala when her photographer Miles Diggs posted a photo of her in the rain with her baby bump on full display.

On the red carpet, Rocky told the Associated Press, “It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up.”
He spoke to the outlet about feeling “glad everybody’s happy for us ‘cause we definitely happy.”
The couple already share sons Riot, 21 months, and RZA, who turns 3 this month.

At one point during Rocky’s trial, Rihanna brought RZA and Riot to court at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles to support their father.
Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, discussed the Fenty Beauty founder’s decision to bring the kids to court in a Feb. 24 interview on The Breakfast Club.
“People were thinking it was a ploy, like some sort of maneuver to get the jury to feel sympathy,” he said, adding later in the interview: “She brought them to court because that could’ve been the last time he’d seen his kids for a decade or more.”
