Rep. Massie Calls For Ghislaine Maxwell To Testify ‘If She Has Information That Could Help Us’

Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie said on NBC News Sunday that Ghislaine Maxwell should testify if she possesses information beneficial to ongoing investigations related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, revealed that his client answered questions about nearly 100 people allegedly connected to Epstein during two days of extensive questioning. During an appearance on “Meet The Press” alongside Democratic California Rep. Ro Khanna, Massie pointed out the importance of compelling testimony from Maxwell.

“You know, that would be up to the president. But if she has information that could help us, then I think she should testify. Let’s get that out there. And whatever they need to do to compel that testimony, as long as it’s truthful, I would be in favor of,” Massie said when host Kristen Welker asked him if he supported a potential pardon or commutation for Maxwell.

Maxwell met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on Thursday to discuss her connections to Epstein and provide answers about her role in the trafficking network. Blanche confirmed in a post on X that he would return Friday for a second day of interviews with the disgraced socialite, who is appealing both her conviction and sentence. Maxwell received a 20-year prison sentence in 2022 after being convicted of recruiting and grooming young women for abuse. Epstein died in his jail cell in 2019, with authorities citing apparent suicide as the cause.

The Trump administration’s Department of Justice concluded that Epstein did not maintain a “client list” and reiterated that his death was a suicide, as detailed in a memo leaked in July. President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi faced pushback from some supporters for their approach to releasing Epstein-related documents, sparking considerable criticism on social media. Trump responded to detractors in a July 16 Truth Social message and defended Bondi on the same platform four days earlier.

“We are about to achieve more in 6 months than any other Administration has achieved in over 100 years,” Trump wrote. “LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!”
