  • Rachel Brosnahan’s husband Jason Ralph allegedly “liked” a comment on one of his Instagram posts calling him a “cuckold”

  • The comment was apparently referring to Brosnahan’s chemistry with her Superman costar David Corenswet

  • Ralph’s alleged endorsement of the comment went viral on social media

Rachel Brosnahan’s husband Jason Ralph may have made a strange move on social media.

A comment referring to Ralph, 39, as a “cuckold” — after Brosnahan starred with David Corenswet in the new Superman — allegedly appeared on one of his Instagram account posts. Per BuzzFeed, BroBible and screenshots shared across social media, the Magicians actor gave the assertion an unexpected “like.”

“It’s genuinely sad to see your career being tucked out to be remembered as a cuckold because your wife couldn’t handle herself with her co-actor,” read the comment, apparently referencing Brosnahan, 35, and Corenswet, 32. “Let’s have some self love and stand up for yourself man.”

PEOPLE has reached out to a Ralph rep for comment.

James Gunn’s DC Universe reboot of Superman stars Brosnahan as Lois Lane, love interest of Corenswet’s Clark Kent a.k.a. the Man of Steel. Critics and fans on social media alike noted the onscreen chemistry between the two actors and their supporting cast, including Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced and more.

This isn’t the first time the sparks between the newest Clark Kent and Lois Lane have made headlines. India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), per Variety, removed two of Corenswet and Brosnahan’s kissing scenes from Gunn’s film, labeling them “overly sensual.”

Following Ralph reportedly turning off comments on the post that included his endorsement of the unusual comment, some speculated online about what message, if any, he was sending.

Some social media users “think he’s cosigning on it,” one commenter on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, while they “and others see this as Ralph trolling an obvious loser moron.”

Brosnahan confirmed that she and Ralph had tied the knot privately in 2019, with a source indicating they married in 2018. The pair met in 2013 while starring in the indie film I’m Obsessed With You: But You’ve Got To Leave Me Alone, dating shortly after its production wrapped.

Corenswet and his wife Julia Best Warner made their red carpet debut as a couple on July 7 at the Superman premiere two years after tying the knot and one year after becoming first-time parents.
