As Rachel Brosnahan enters her blockbuster era, starring as Lois Lane in Superman, by her side is her husband and fellow actor, Jason Ralph.
Ralph and Brosnahan have been together since 2013, and secretly married in 2018. “I’ve been quite private about my personal life for a few reasons. The first being that it’s just that: personal,” she said that year. “Jason and I also noticed early on that, while we are both the leads of successful television series, he has almost never been asked about our relationship while I have been asked on almost every red carpet I have walked in the last two years. We both find this double standard problematic and frustrating and opted to redirect those conversations to our work.”

2013: They meet on the set of I’m Obsessed with You.
Brosnahan revealed to T&C that they met while filming the indie film I’m Obsessed with You about a group of college friends. The actors all lived in a dorm together, and she didn’t start dating Ralph until after production wrapped.
2015: The couple makes their red carpet debut.
Their first appearance together was at the premiere of The Lion in New York City. That year, they make a few other appearances together:

2015: They work together again in the TV show Manhattan.
Manhattan, sometimes styled MANH(A)TTAN, was a drama about the Manhattan project and the development of the Atomic bomb. Brosnhan played Abby Isaacs, wife of Dr. Charlie Isaacs, and Ralph had a small role as Stan.

They soon would each land major roles: Ralph as Quentin Coldwater in The Magicians and Brosnahan as the titular Mrs. Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
2018: They secretly wed.
At the 2018 Emmys, the couple sparked wedding rumors when Brosnahan wore a ring on that finger to the ceremony.
2019: Brosnahan thanks her husband in her Golden Globes speech.
“Jason, I love you. I wouldn’t be here at all without you. Thank you,” she said while accepting the trophy.
2022 and 2023: Ralph appears in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season four and five.
“Being the lead of a show is like a really, really difficult job, and she does it with such grace and humility. And there she is and so beautiful,” Ralph said of his wife.
“She’s just the best, and I just feel very lucky to have gotten to be kind of like a fly on the wall,” he added of working with her. “Who gets to see the person that they’re married to, and love, command a set like that, and be a leader?” He added, “I felt very lucky to be here.”
Brosnahan said of working with her husband, “It was all the things. I was so intimidated because we haven’t worked together since we met, 10 years ago I guess now, so I was really nervous for him to actually see me doing this up close, and come into my world, but it was amazing.”
2025: They pay tribute to their dog, Nikki.
Brosnahan gives a rare glimpse into their personal life as she announces the death of their beloved dog, Nikki. “She had a long life and we loved her hard. We’ll miss her forever,” she wrote in the caption.
