Princess Leonor of Spain has been making many public appearances this summer on behalf of the royal family while on holiday break from military training. The Princess of Asturias attended an annual reception on Tuesday in Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula with her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, her sister, Infanta Sofía, and grandmother, Queen Sofía.
The event held for local authorities was at Marivent Palace, the summer residence for the Spanish royals after the local government gifted the palace to Felipe’s father, former King Juan Carlos I, in the 1970s. More than 500 people were in attendance for the outdoor gathering, in which local authorities and residents welcomed the Spanish royal family to Palma for their summer stay, including Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal. This year’s reception marked the first time that Leonor and Sofia officially joined their parents for the greeting.

For the event, Princess Leonor appeared to have borrowed from her mother’s closet, opting for an off the shoulder maxi dress from Desigual’s collaboration with Stella Jean that Queen Letizia wore to the reception in 2023. While Letizia styled the dress with white espadrille wedges, her daughter opted for a navy pair.
The royal sisters have made stepped out for a number of official engagements together this summer, including at the Princess of Girona Awards in Barcelona where Leonor made a speech, a joint visit in Catalonia to tour several buildings in a medieval village once restored by designer Elsa Peretti, and in Switzerland to support Spain in the final match of the 2025 UEFA European Women’s Championship.
Princess Leonor recently completed her naval training, and she is expected to begin her third and final year of military training in the coming weeks at the Air Force Academy. At the end of the summer, Infanta Sofía will be starting university at Forward College, a private and more unconventional institution where she’ll study for a degree in political science and international relations.
