Princess Beatrice was back to her royal duties this week when she made a surprise appearance at a wildlife charity event attended by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Beatrice, a niece to the monarch and the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, was photographed at the Elephant Family’s “Wonders of the Wild” event at Kew Gardens in Richmond, England on Tuesday, May 13, just three months after giving birth to her second child.

Beatrice wasn’t photographed in any pictures with Charles and Camilla during the event, though her attendance showed her support for the charity, which was established by the queen’s late brother, Mark Shand.
Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, who is an honorary life patron of the Elephant Family, was also present for Tuesday’s event.
Beatrice’s appearance on Tuesday comes over a month after she opened up about the experience of welcoming her baby daughter, Athena in an essay published for British Vogue in late March.
Beatrice, who also shares daughter Sienna, 3, with husabnd Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, gave birth to Athena a few weeks earlier than her due date. In the essay, she recalled feeling “sheer worry” when the child was born on Jan. 22, though she said she “is now doing really well.”

“I was very fortunate to be monitored closely by a medical team and I’m extremely aware of how lucky I am,” Beatrice wrote, noting that it “took more than a few weeks for the tears of relief to dry and for life with our healthy baby to feel real.”
