Prince William could be getting another godchild.
On July 27, the Duke and Duchess of Westminster announced the birth of their first child, a daughter named Cosima Florence Grosvenor.
“Both the Duchess and Cosima are doing well. The Duke and Duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family,” an official statement read.
The Prince and Princess of Wales asked Hugh Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster, to be the godfather of their first-born son, Prince George, which suggests that Grosvenor could ask William to be the godfather of his newborn baby girl. Interestingly, Grosvenor is also the godfather of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie.
William and Grosvenor have been friends for many years. In fact, King Charles is actually Grosvenor’s godfather. And, if William is asked to be Cosima’s godfather, well, it’s a role that he’s very familiar with. William is already a godfather to Prince Constantine Alexios of Greece and Denmark, Tom Pettifer, and Grace Van-Cutsem.

It’s possible that Prince Harry could also be asked to be Cosima’s godfather, as it’s not uncommon for children in the royal family to have multiple godparents. For example, Prince George has seven godparents. They include Zara Tindall, Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, and William van Cutsem, in addition to Grosvenor.
Cosima is likely to be christened in the next six months, as is tradition within the royal family.
