A bride disinvited her pregnant best friend from her wedding

A bride has disinvited her best friend from her wedding for getting pregnant.
The four-months-pregnant woman explained in a post on Reddit’s “Bridezillas” forum that the bride has not only demoted her from her role as maid of honor, but has also banned her from her big day entirely because she’s afraid that her pronounced stomach will steal wedding guests’ attention.
“She thinks that having a pregnant woman right at the altar will take a lot of the spotlight off of her and even just being at the event might cause people to direct their focus on me and not the married couple,” the expectant mother wrote. “I’m floored.”

This conversation seemingly came “out of nowhere.”
After the bride got engaged two years ago, she invited her “extremely close” friend to her wedding and asked her to be her maid of honor. Both women were “so excited” to celebrate together, and have since been constantly “talking about the wedding,” hanging out and “always texting.”
The bride’s feelings shifted after her friend announced her pregnancy following two miscarriages. As the woman’s belly grew, so did the bride’s uncertainty about her potentially distracting wedding presence.
The ex-maid of honor, who already has a 3-year-old daughter, was “shocked” when the childless bride broke the news that she was no longer welcome at her wedding.
“She came over and I asked a question about the wedding and she paused for a minute so I was like ???? and then she said, ‘Yeah about that, I’ve decided I don’t think it’s best for you to be there,’ ” the Redditor remembered.
The bride’s friend will be seven months pregnant at the time of the wedding in October. Reddit users advised her to focus on her pregnancy and let go of her friendship with the “selfish” bride.

Commenters thought it was ridiculous that the bride believed a pregnancy would somehow take over her wedding spotlight.
“You can’t even BE at the event? I’m pretty sure most attendants have seen a pregnant lady before,” the top comment reads.
