Lauren Alaina shared an emotional Instagram Reel after the 2025 ACM Awards
In the clip, the country star — who is 37 weeks pregnant — revealed that she was “feeling left out” of the event.
Alaina also noted that she’s been in a period of “transition” with her music the last few years
Lauren Alaina is “feeling left out” of the ACM Awards.
On Thursday, May 8, the “Household” musician — who is currently 37 weeks pregnant — shared an emotional Instagram Reel after the awards show, revealing she was “feeling sad.”
“Ok, first of all, I just want to say, I’m at home watching the ACMs and I’m so proud of everyone tonight, everyone that’s performed, everyone that’s won. Like, I get so excited for everyone because I have the same dream, and I wanna be there and I wanna be getting these awards and having these performances and presenting the awards,” Alaina, 30, began.
She continued: “But I’m home 37 weeks pregnant So I’m home this year and I just wanna be honest about something, I’m feeling left out. I’m feeling sad. I’m feeling so many feelings because I have this little girl in here, and I want her to dream big, and I want her to believe in herself and go for whatever she wants to do.”
Alaina explained that the last few years have been a period of “transition” for her in music.
“I just feel kind of left behind,” she said. “Like I’ve gotta create all this content and try to do all these things to try and have all these moments online. And it’s not just about writing music and putting songs out anymore, you have to do all these other things.”
While Alaina said she thought she might “regret” posting the footage, she wanted to remind people who have a dream that “It’s not a competition.”
“But if you feel like you want to be somewhere and you’re not there, I see you and I feel you,” she said.
Alaina noted that her emotions have “nothing to do” with her baby.
“I felt this way last year,” she said. “I didn’t go to the ACMs last year either, and I just desperately want to be there. I want to be up for these awards and be able to even present the awards and walk the carpet and be with my friends.”
Alaina reiterated that while she was just “feeling sad,” she was also “excited” for her “dearest friends” who were winning.
“I know what that means to them because that’s what I want as well, and I don’t want them not to have that,” she concluded.
In January, PEOPLE exclusively confirmed Alaina was expecting after she teased her pregnancy in her new “Those Kind of Women” music video.
“[I didn’t know] I can love something that I haven’t even really held yet. I feel the baby inside me, and it’s kicking me and doing all of the things. It’s like I was the Grinch or something, and my heart grew,” she told PEOPLE of expecting a child with her husband Cam Arnold, who she married in February 2024.
Alaina said that the pregnancy has “bonded” them “even more” than their marriage did.

On Friday, May 9, Alaina released her new song “All My Exes” featuring Chase Matthew.
“‘All My Exes’ isn’t your typical song about an ex,” she said in a statement. “It’s all about the typical downtown situationship (we’ve all been there). “’Exes’ is my twist on the phrase, ‘it’s not you, it’s me,’ and just the ultimate, windows-down summer song.”
