NEED TO KNOW

  • Post Malone modeled in his first underwear campaign for SKIMS and its new Realtree camo collection

  • In an interview with GQ, the singer called the experience “terrifying” while comparing himself to “Sasquatch”

  • He also revealed the surprising way he prepared for the Theo Wenner-lensed shoot and joked that he hoped to receive texts from “a bunch of ladies” once his campaign was released

He had some help from some sexy boxers.

Post Malone is a jack of many trades, and on Aug. 19, he added underwear model to his résumé when he made his SKIMS debut in the brand’s new menswear campaign. While it was a big moment for the Grammy-nominated artist, he admitted that stripping down to his skivvies was as intimidating as it sounds.

“It’s terrifying for me,” the “Circles” singer, 30, said in an interview with GQ. “I’ve never done anything like that. It’s like a Sasquatch sighting, essentially, is what it feels like. Everyone’s going to call it in to the cops and say, ‘We saw Bigfoot out here.’ Or, Averagefoot.”

Leading up to the Utah shoot, photographed by Theo Wenner, Malone “tried to bulk up a little bit,” but when that “didn’t work,” he looked to the next best thing. “Just [ate] a lot of fried chicken,” he admitted.

He also had his favorite SKIMS silhouettes to boost his spirits.  “It was really a lot of fun, it made me feel like a handsome son of a bitch,” he told the outlet, then adding: “Hopefully I get a text from a bunch of ladies.”

Malone fronts the Realtree-print collection, which offers relax-fitted tops and bottoms — including yes, underwear — in the limited-edition camo print.

“I love Realtree camouflage. I love camouflage in general. Some people are passionate about a lot of stuff, like some people build spaceships and stuff, and I just like camouflage and anything that is in that vein,” Malone told GQ about his obsession with the aesthetic.

This year, SKIMS has continued its series of celebrity campaigns with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Abby Champion, ROSÉ and founder Kim Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner. Equally, the brand rolled out its first beauty-adjacent launch with the Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap.

The first-of-its-kind shapewear for the brand, marketed as a product offering jaw support with its snug collage-infused sculpting fabric, quickly went viral for its Death Becomes Her-like design — or, as some would argue, its Hannibal Lecter inspiration.

Not long after SKIMS announced the product, Anthony Hopkins modeled it on Instagram in reference to his iconic costume from The Silence of the Lambs. “Thank you, Kim. Don’t be afraid to come over for dinner @kimkardashian @skims,” he wrote.
