Wegmans is recalling an assortment of its cheese products.

The popular grocery chain announced on Aug. 12 that its Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese and products containing it were to be recalled, per a listing from the Food and Drug Administration.

The cheese may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause fatal infections in young children, elderly people or people with compromised immune systems, and potentially cause miscarriages and stillbirths for pregnant people.

Listeria can cause high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in healthy people, per the FDA, though the symptoms are generally temporary.

The affected cheeses were supplied by a Georgia-based company, which learned of the possible contamination from its French supplier. The cheese products were sold in Wegmans stores on the East Coast, including those in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
