Poppi drinkers might be in for a sweet surprise…well, sort of. The self-proclaimed better-for-you soda brand has just settled an $8.9 million class action lawsuit, and you could be eligible to receive some cash back. Free money? Where do I sign up?
The class action suit brought charges against the company for its marketing claims that their soda was labeled as “gut healthy,” which has never been confirmed through scientific research. Customers who purchased the beverages because of those claims are now asking for their money back, and we don’t blame ’em. As Cardi B would say, “That’s suspicious.” And while you may have been duped, there is a silver lining in the form of coin. So who can get their hands on some of that cold, hard soda cash?
As it turns out, anyone who purchased any flavor or size of Poppi sodas between January 23, 2020, and July 18, 2025, can receive a portion of the $8.9 million settlement, but here’s where things get sticky: Without proof of purchase, drinkers are only eligible for $16 cash back. However, those of you who held on to proof of purchase may be eligible for even more, depending on just how much you stocked up on.
Customers can receive up $0.75 per can, $3 per 4-pack, $6 per 8-pack, or $9 per 12- or 15-pack. Consumers are encouraged to submit their claims online or by mail by no later than September 16, 2025. Happy collecting!
