Marc Maron, host of the popular WTF with Marc Maron podcast, took to Instagram on Friday, May 9 to share a vintage clip from his 2019 appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.
In the clip, Maron is asked by a caller to name his “all-time worst guest.”

Initially, the comedian/actor balked at the request. “You guys,” he said, before explaining his stance on such situations.
“I get very diplomatic about this because oddly, even the ones that I’m uncomfortable with, I find interesting ’cause I don’t really know a lot of the people that I talk to. So, I don’t know that there was a ‘worst guest.’ There’ve been difficult guests.”
At that point, host Andy Cohen jumped in and said they have a question for Maron about his podcast with the prop comedian Gallagher, who might be best known for smashing watermelons.
“You confronted him about his homophobic and kind of racist jokes and he kind of stormed off,” Cohen said.
“I was just asking him why was he doing that? Didn’t it seem wrong to him or whatever? And he just got all upset. He’s like, ‘I know what you’re trying to do,” Maron said, adding a bit of a Gallagher impersonation that earned a compliment from Cohen.
“He like gets up and just storms out of my hotel room,” Maron continued. “And I think what’s really the funny part about that was I’m just sitting there alone, but I still had the mic. And you could hear me go, ‘Oh, come on, Gallagher,’” he recalled.
Maron has been hosting WTF since 2009, releasing new episodes on Mondays and Thursday. His current episode, number 1,641, features singer-songwriter Samantha Crain.
