Pete Davidson wants the spotlight on his work, not his dating life.
The actor and comedian opened up to “The Breakfast Club” in an interview released Aug. 14 about the frustration and emotional turmoil from the intense public interest in his personal life over his career.
“I got really tired of my whole career just being my personal life,” Davidson, 31, said. “And living through that is sort of traumatic. Not to be like lame, but it’s traumatic to live in your own crap all the time.”
The intense attention began during his relationship with ex-fiancée Ariana Grande and only increased with a high-profile coupling with Kim Kardashian and rumored relationships with Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline and Kaia Gerber.

“The Pickup” actor said though no one was “outrightly mean by any means,” being regarded as just a sexual object “hurt so much.”
Asked by cohost Charlamagne Tha God why he was embarrassed for “banging a lot of hot chicks” and people thinking he was well endowed, the “Saturday Night Live” alum said he felt singled out.

“On paper, that sounds great. But it’s embarrassing,” Davidson added. “Because first of all, it’s Hollywood. Everybody’s dating everybody. Why are they focusing on me? It’s because I’m not Glen Powell-handsome.”
Davidson considers it a double standard for people to speak about his anatomy “all day.”
“The sexualization of me, if that was a girl, people would be like, there would be a march for it. Seriously,” he said. “They don’t talk about girls like that professionally.”

The intense interest has eased up since Davidson’s girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt, revealed she is pregnant with their first child on July 16.
Davidson told E! at the New York premiere of “The Home” on July 22 that “everybody’s just been super excited for me, because they know it’s been my dream.”
“I’m very lucky and very, very happy,” Davidson told the outlet, adding that he is excited “to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have. I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like, not do it.”
