Ollie Sutherland is ready to become a girl dad
During an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the Love Is Blind UK star opened up about how excited he is and why he believes everything “lined up perfectly”

Ollie Sutherland is absolutely ready to become a girl dad!
While chatting with PEOPLE exclusively ahead of the season 3 premiere of Perfect Match, the Love Is Blind UK alum, 33, opens up about how excited he is to become a girl dad. Sutherland, who is engaged to costar Amber Desiree “AD” Smith, also 33, revealed that he “can’t wait to meet our little girl.”
“So excited. Obviously nervous as well, but that just speaks to how excited I am and how much it means to me,” he tells PEOPLE. “Obviously, I’m nervous because I want to get it right, but I’m sure, as a team, we’re going to be amazing parents, and we just can’t wait to meet our little girl.”

When asked whether having a girl puts any additional pressure on him, Sutherland reveals to PEOPLE that it doesn’t because he actually wanted to have a girl first.
“No, but I wanted a girl first, genuinely,” Sutherland says. “We didn’t put it out there leading up to the moment because if it had been a boy, I didn’t want it sound like I’d be disappointed. But genuinely, I was hoping it’d be a girl, so everything’s just lined up perfectly.”
As for Smith, the soon-to-be mom tells PEOPLE that she feels “great” because Sutherland is such a “great partner.”
“I feel great. Ollie’s such a great partner. I don’t really have to do anything,” Smith explains to PEOPLE. “He takes care of everything. Cooks me breakfast every day, makes me coffee. We’re shopping for baby, so I can’t ask for a better person.”

The soon-to-be parents met while filming season 3 of Netflix’s Perfect Match. Ahead of the season’s release, the couple announced their exciting pregnancy news via a joint Instagram post on Sunday, May 25. Two months prior, Smith and Sutherland confirmed their relationship and announced their engagement.
While the couple has chosen a name for their baby girl, they told PEOPLE at the Netflix Summer Break event on Thursday, July 17, that it’s “remaining top secret.”
“We’ve got a name, but it’s remaining top secret, and funny enough, I was pleasantly surprised at how aligned we were very, very early on,” Ollie told PEOPLE. “Probably like the first two or three names, we got the one, and it just shows how aligned we are in like the way we think and everything.”
Echoing his sentiments, AD said, “We got something. Pretty much as soon as it came out of his mouth, I was like, ‘Yeah, I like that.'”
The first six episodes of the Perfect Match season 3 will premiere on Netflix on Aug. 1.
