Pamela Anderson made her return to the Met Gala red carpet tonight for the second time, stunning in a bedazzled Tory Burch gown and accessorizing with Pandora jewelry. She walked the red carpet solo, alongside designer Tory Burch, and with her son, Brandon Thomas Lee.
Just days ago, The Last Showgirl actress debuted a chic new blunt bob at the inaugural Tory Burch Foundation Founders Breakfast on May 1. She paired the fresh cut with a cream bucket hat and a flowing off-white two-piece ensemble, exuding effortless elegance. Now 57, the actress and activist has been embracing a more natural aesthetic in recent years, often opting to forgo makeup at events and red carpets alike.
In 2023, she told People, “I’m makeup-free at home, so why not for Paris Fashion Week? I really didn’t know anyone would notice it, but I’m glad it became a positive message.”
She added, “I don’t have to be cool anymore. I can just be me. It’s very freeing to be comfortable in your own skin.”
Anderson said something similar to Better Homes & Gardens in 2024, stating, “[Going bare-faced] was the beginning of me letting go of the image I had always had of myself. What is this cartoon character that I’d created? Okay, that was fun. But I’m not that person anymore.”
The actress told ELLE in 2023 that she began stepping away from makeup after the death of her longtime makeup artist and close friend, Alexis Vogel, who passed away from breast cancer in 2019.
“She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup,” she shared.
But it is not a strict policy. Anderson made her debut at the Met Gala in 2024 and worked with legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath on her look that night.
“Pam wanted to wear makeup again for the Met Gala, so we created a look that acknowledged her natural beauty but then took it to the next level. We wanted to explore the next incarnation of natural—an elevation of natural—and to show how you can wear a full face of makeup but in a very fresh and beautiful way,” McGrath wrote in a press release.
That evening, the Baywatch star wore a white Oscar de la Renta gown with a dramatic train and accentuated her updo with a Noel Stewart headpiece. She wore pieces from Pandora then, as well, including lab-grown diamonds in pink and white in chains around her neck and draped over her shoulders.
