Paige DeSorbo exited Love Island USA early because of a medical emergency, she explained in the latest episode of her Giggly Squad podcast
She revealed that she “passed out” from the heat halfway through filming a challenge she was guest hosting

Paige DeSorbo is addressing her sudden exit from Love Island USA on Sunday, June 15.
The reality star, 32, revealed that she experienced a medical emergency while guest hosting a challenge for the dating competition series in Fiji. On an episode of her Giggly Squad podcast on Tuesday, June 17, DeSorbo shared that she had to leave set halfway through filming after getting sick and fainting.
“It’s a long filming day, and we started pretty early,” she explained. “And mind you, I had just landed — not even a full 24 hours that I am there. I’m not even acclimated. But I’m fine, I’m not gonna say that. I’m not gonna be a diva. Like, I’m doing a job.”

DeSorbo noted that she took a beta blocker to calm her nerves that morning, and was wearing a suede turtleneck with a mic pack touching the back of her neck, along with heavy hair extensions, in extremely hot weather.
“The sun starts beating down on me pretty aggressively,” she said. “I have a high pain tolerance, so if I’m uncomfortable, I’m really waiting for the last second to tell you, because I don’t want to be a problem. I don’t want to be bothersome.”
“I’m like an hour and a half into filming and I’m like, ‘You know what? Real quick, I’m feeling a little bit queasy. Let me take a moment to myself,” she continued. “I throw up.”
Still, the Summer House alum said she told producers she was okay to keep going, but moments later, she started “swaying a little bit.”
“I’m not feeling totally normal, but again, I’m not stopping the show that has so graciously asked me to come on,” she recalled. “I literally sat down [and] passed out.”

It was then that she realized she wasn’t able to finish hosting the challenge: “I don’t think I can keep going, and if I do, I really will pass out.”
While DeSorbo was not expected to be onscreen for the entire episode, viewers were surprised to see her seemingly disappear without announcing her exit after the challenge portion of the episode.
One X user wrote, “weird, they flew paige out to host a challenge and she didn’t finish it? did she overheat in her suede? #loveislandusa.” Another wrote, “why did paige desorbo just randomly disappear during the episode of love island last night?”

Love Island USA is currently being filmed in Fiji. On Monday, June 16, DeSorbo took to Instagram to share a post from her experience as a guest host on the show. The Giggly Squad co-host wrote, “Thank you @arianamadix for lending me the islanders.”
The photos showed DeSorbo in a daring suede turtleneck dress with cutouts on both sides, accessorized with chunky gold jewelry. Other slides showed DeSorbo entering the villa, a video of the contestants gearing up for the challenge, and some more behind-the-scenes shots of DeSorbo gearing up for her guest hosting gig in a butter yellow two-piece loungewear set.
Some fans of DeSorbo and Love Island USA continued to ask questions about DeSorbo’s abrupt exit.
“WAIT but tell us why you left the game early! We need you back!” one social media user wrote.
Meanwhile, other reality stars complimented DeSorbo’s guest hosting skills. “I screamed when u came out,” wrote Rachel Kirkconnell of Bachelor Nation.
