Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,” read a statement posted on Osbourne’s X account on July 22.
“We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,” the statement continued. The statement was signed by Osbourne’s wife, Sharon, and three of his kids, Kelly, Jack and Louis.
Dozens of fans reacted to the post, sending tributes to Osbourne and well wishes to his family.
“The Prince of Darkness is gone. Way too young. Ozzy was cheated in life, he deserved many more years with us. From age 12 to 22, I spent a decade in constant isolation, living in a basement with an uncontrollable desire for drugs, alcohol, and sex. No friends, just my Short-tailed Boa, Ozzy. His music and will to live a clean life helped me through many years of addiction. RIP Ozzy Osbourne,” one person wrote.
“A true legend. Thank you for the music, the madness, and the memories. Rest in power, Ozzy,” someone else said.
“The world feels emptier without Ozzy Osbourne. At 76, the Prince of Darkness leaves a legacy that’ll never stop screaming,” a third comment read.
