Louis Osbourne made a rare public appearance at his father Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral

Ozzy Osbourne’s son Louis made a rare public appearance at the music legend’s funeral.
On Wednesday, July 30, the Prince of Darkness’ eldest son — whom he shares with ex-wife Thelma Riley — attended his funeral procession in the city of Birmingham, England, alongside fans who showed up to say their goodbyes to Ozzy, who died on July 22 at age 76.
Louis — who solemnly sported a black suit, a purple tie adorned with skulls and bones and sunglasses — joined Sharon Osbourne, in addition to siblings Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne and Aimee Osbourne, as they mourned the “War Pigs” hitmaker on the Black Sabbath bridge and bench.

Following Ozzy’s death on July 22, Louis joined siblings Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39, as well as their mother, Sharon, 72, in sharing a statement with PEOPLE.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” they said at the time. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

After his father’s death, Louis paid tribute to Ozzy by changing his profile image on Facebook and Instagram to solid black.
Ozzy was dad to six children: Jessica and Louis with ex Thelma Riley, as well as son Elliot, Riley’s son from a prior relationship, whom Ozzy adopted. He and Sharon shared Aimee, Kelly and Jack.
Louis has largely lived out of the public eye, but has occasionally spoken out about his family.
He told Birmingham Live in 2013 that he got along with his siblings and tried to “meet on special occasions” when they visited the U.K., where he also lives.
In 2002, Louis met his wife Louise, while he was visiting his dad, who had received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After a few months the pair were engaged and tied the knot in Louise’s native Ireland before moving full-time to Birmingham.
Louis, who has a career in the music industry, continued his work as a label owner, DJ and producer while his wife works in the acting industry. They share two children.

Just days before his father died, Louis attended his dad’s final performance with Black Sabbath and wrote on Facebook afterward that it was “hugely emotional” for him.
“I was sobbing at times. It was everything we wanted it to be and more,” he wrote, per BBC. “I had been anxious for months about this as I’ve been worried about my dad’s ability to perform with his Parkinson’s disease.”
Added Louis, “I just wanted it to be a dignified send off for him. But as soon as he started singing we knew he was gonna nail it.”
