Ozzy Osbourne Knew That He Had Less Than ’10 Years Left’ Before Death originally appeared on Parade.
Ozzy Osbourne didn’t fear death — and even had a prediction about when he thought his earthside journey would end.
The iconic rocker, who recently passed away at age 76, often spoke out about his future and shared his thoughts on mortality. In 2023, Ozzy admitted that he felt that he had less than a decade left of his life.
Looking back, Ozzy explained that he had been speaking to his wife Sharon Osbourne about smoking a joint and when she told him that it could kill him, he didn’t hold back.
“I said, ‘How long do you want me to f–king live for?!’ At best I’ve got 10 years left and when you’re older, time picks up speed,” he shared in an interview with Rolling Stone UK.

Elsewhere in the interview, Ozzy also reflected on how many of his former drinking partners were “f–king dead.” He confessed that the passing of his friends made him question why he was still alive.
“I should have been dead way before loads of them,” he told the magazine. “Why am I the last man standing? I don’t understand any of it.”
He continued, “Sometimes I look in the mirror and go, ‘Why the f–k did you make it?!’ I’m not boasting about any of it because I should have been dead a thousand times. I’ve had my stomach pumped God knows how many times.”
Ozzy added that while he doesn’t necessarily “fear dying,” he didn’t “want to have a long, painful and miserable existence.”
In fact, Ozzy mentioned that after seeing his dad die of cancer, he became interested in the assisted suicide services offered to terminally ill patients in Switzerland. While Ozzy and Sharon were long rumored to have a suicide pact, their daughter Kelly Osbourne shut those down just days before Ozzy’s death.
“That was bulls–t my mum said to get attention one time,” Kelly wrote on her Instagram stories.
Ozzy passed away just days later. Our thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time.
