A biopic about Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne is still in the works, according to a representative for the film’s production company, Polygram Entertainment
The film will follow the couple’s 43-year marriage and the singer’s legendary rock career
Sharon and their children, Jack and Aimee, were named as producers when the film was announced in 2021
A biopic chronicling Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s relationship is still set to hit theaters.
A representative for Polygram Entertainment confirmed that the Osbourne biopic is currently in negotiations with a director, who may be confirmed soon, per Variety. The reports follow Ozzy’s death on Tuesday, July 22.
Four years ago, Sony announced it would be creating a film alongside Osbourne Media and Polygram Entertainment, focused on the Osbournes’ relationship. The couple married in 1982 and share three kids, Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39.
Sharon, 72, Jack and Aimee were set to serve as producers. Rocketman screenwriter Lee Hall, who was initially announced as the writer, is still set to write the screenplay. It will include music from both Ozzy’s solo career and his work as Black Sabbath’s frontman.
Polygram Entertainment has previously produced scripted and unscripted music-focused projects, including The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?, Beastie Boys Story, The Go-Gos, Billie and The Velvet Underground.

The late reality TV personality died of “out-of-hospital cardiac arrest” and “acute myocardial infarction,” according to a death certificate obtained by The New York Times and The Sun. He was 76.
Osbourne faced several health issues in the years before his death, including his 2003 Parkinson’s disease diagnosis — which he did not reveal until 2020. In 2019, Osbourne had suffered a fall in his Los Angeles home that required neck surgery.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Ozzy’s family told PEOPLE in a statement at the time. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Sharon and his kids, Louis, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, said their final goodbyes to the rocker during an emotional funeral procession on Wednesday, July 30, in Birmingham, England.

Weeks before his death, Osbourne performed from a throne at the Black Sabbath farewell concert on July 5 in Birmingham. It was his final concert and his first in 20 years with the band that made him a star.
