Now that Outlander has wrapped its final season, the stars of the series are available for other projects and there’s been no shortage of them. Sam Heughan will star as the murderous tyrant in Macbeth, marking his debut with the Royal Shakespeare Company; Caitríona Balfe moves from her 18th century role as Claire Fraser to modern times in the edge-of-your-seat thriller, The Amateur, starring opposite Rami Malek; and today it was announced that Richard Rankin will guest star in Season 2 of The Forsythe Saga.
Rankin, who has played Roger MacKenzie in all eight seasons of Outlander, will move to the early 20th century for his role in The Forsythe Saga, based on John Galsworthy’s Nobel Prize-winning trilogy of novels. No information on Rankin’s role has yet been released.
