Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett turned heads with a stunning barely-there makeup look when she appeared on the panel for a press conference at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival on May 23.
Blanchett, 56, was all smiles and full of passion as she spoke during the displacement film fund panel at the Palais de Festivals, the main hub of the entire Cannes experience. She looked fresh-faced and youthful with what appeared to be no makeup — or at least really impressive natural makeup — and a cute pair of pink glasses to accent her casual and gorgeous look. The actress wore a long white t-shirt with an accent chain on the collar and the sleeves cut off for an edgy vibe, which she paired with black pants and boots.
The Australian icon, who is perhaps best known for her work in The Aviator and Lord of the Rings, has not made a red carpet appearance at Cannes yet this year. However, Blanchett did make a huge splash last year when she starred in Rumours, which screened out of competition at the festival. Knowing her immense talent, she will be back on the red carpet in France again soon enough — and carpet or not, she still looks immaculate.
Most recently, Blanchett appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s latest film Black Bag, a spy thriller that was released in the United States back in March. She starred alongside Michael Fassbender, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Regé-Jean Page, and Pierce Brosnan. Next up, she can be seen in Father Mother Sister Brother, the upcoming film from director Jim Jarmusch. Blanchett will be part of an ensemble cast featuring Adam Driver, Mayim Bialik, Vicky Krieps, Tom Waits, Charlotte Rampling, Indya Moore, and Luka Sabbat. The movie is currently in post-production.
The iconic performer has won two Academy Awards over the course of her long-standing career: one for Best Supporting Actress for her work in 2004’s The Aviator, and one for Best Actress for her starring role in 2013’s Blue Jasmine.
