Kate Hudson’s real-life brother seems to be jealous of her fictional ones!
The actress’ older brother, Oliver Hudson, had no problem teasing his sister about her starring role in Netflix’s Running Point, while speaking with PEOPLE at the New York City premiere of Happy Gilmore 2 on Monday, July 21.
When asked about Kate’s previous comments claiming he was offended that he didn’t appear in season 1 of the basketball comedy, Oliver, 48, quipped about a potential season 2 cameo: “If you don’t see me next year, Katie and I are going to have some issues.”

However, Oliver, who confidently declared that “everyone knows” he’s the greatest actor in his famous family, also appealed to Netflix regarding season 2.
“If Netflix really wants ratings, they have to bring the Hudson Express on,” he teased. “That’s up to them. I can’t control this.”
Jokes aside, Oliver assured PEOPLE that he’s “of course” happy for his sister’s success on the show.

In the series, Kate, 46, plays Isla Gordon — the only female sibling in the Gordon family who steps in to run the Los Angeles Waves NBA team. While handling the team’s drama, Isla also has to deal with the complex dynamics of her four brothers played by Justin Theroux, Scott MacArthur, Drew Tarver and Fabrizio Guido.

Kate told PEOPLE in February that Oliver is “still mad he’s not in the show.” However, Creator Mindy Kaling assured PEOPLE that the actor “will be” making an appearance someday.
Kate then joked that Oliver could play a “dead body” just to get him onscreen. When Kaling suggested he’d be “annoyed” with that role, Kate revealed he’s game for anything.
“He would love it,” she said of Oliver. “He’d do it. He would do it.”

As for their real-life sibling dynamic, Kate said, “Oh my God, we have such a crazy sibling dynamic. We have a whole podcast about it!”
The two co-host the Sibling Revelry podcast where they explore different sibling relationships with many of their celebrity pals.
And Oliver also shared with PEOPLE on Monday that his kids are getting into the family business.
“Wilder, my oldest, I just did a Netflix movie. It’s coming out in November. He was in it,” he shared of his 17-year-old son. “Bodhi, my middle one, is after this going to New Jersey to do a part, another Netflix movie. So yeah, it’s kind of happening, I guess. I don’t think that they know any different. Kind of like we didn’t really know any different. So it’s a true family business for sure.”
