OFF! is helping Americans take a page out of Grandma Joy’s travel journal, and make their own national park dreams a reality.

The beloved mosquito and tick repellent brand just announced a major partnership with the National Park Foundation to launch the OFF! to Adventure Sweepstakes, giving fans a chance to win everything they need to start their own epic park-hopping journey.

The timing is perfect, as OFF!’s announcement coincides with National Park Week (April 19–27), which kicks off with a free admission day on April 19.

According to an email sent to The Blast, OFF! Mosquito & Tick Repellents has teamed up with the National Park Foundation to launch the OFF! to Adventure Sweepstakes, an epic giveaway designed to help five lucky winners experience the thrill of visiting all 63 U.S. national parks, just like two incredible travelers have already done: 93-year-old Grandma Joy and 3-year-old Journey Castillo.

That’s right, a toddler and a nonagenarian have each completed the full U.S. national park circuit, inspiring Americans of all ages to pack their bags and hit the trails.

The Castillo family from San Antonio, Texas recently made headlines after their daughter, aptly named Journey, became the youngest known person to visit every U.S. national park. What started as a pandemic-era trip to Colorado’s Pike National Forest when Journey was just weeks old turned into an ambitious plan to finish all 63 parks before her third birthday.

“Our thing was: ‘Let’s … instill in Journey a passion for nature, instill in her [that] she can handle the strenuous part of the traveling, the environments, the weather changes, different cultures,” mom Valerie Castillo told The Guardian.

By age two, Journey had already visited 44 parks. The final stretch included remote Alaska spots that required ferries and chartered planes, but they did it. In October, Journey reached her final park: Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. A post on the family’s Instagram summed it up in her voice: “Though we’ve weathered storms and faced countless hurdles, our happiness remains unwavering… It’s all part of the grand adventure in this world.”

The sweepstakes also comes hot on the heels of an inspiring viral milestone involving 93-year-old Joy Ryan, better known as Grandma Joy, and her grandson, Brad, who recently completed their seven-year journey to visit all 63 U.S. national parks.

The duo, who share their travels with over 70,000 Instagram followers via Grandma Joy’s Road Trip, reached their final stop at the National Park of American Samoa this past February.

“Reaching our 63rd and final U.S. National Park is bittersweet, with an emphasis on the ‘sweet,'” Brad told “Good Morning America.” “Grandma Joy has taught the world that you are never too old to show up and live the adventurous life of your dreams.”

Grandma Joy’s National Park Journey Was About More Than Travel

Joy, who was working a minimum-wage deli job in Duncan Falls, Ohio when they began the journey in 2015, had never even been in a tent before their first trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

“She held the umbrella over me while I set up the tent,” Brad recalled. “She laughed through every bit of it.” That spirit, and their deepened bond after a decade-long estrangement, turned their journey into something much bigger than a bucket list.

Now, OFF! wants to empower more families to make similar memories, minus the bug bites.

Through August 31, five winners will receive a national park essentials prize pack including an America the Beautiful Annual Pass for free access to all U.S. national parks, a $1,000 gift card to cover park adventure expense, 63 cans of OFF! Deep Woods, one for each U.S. capital national park, a national park passport book, and stamp pack to track their visits.

With summer birthdays, road trips, and park adventures on the horizon, OFF! is making sure the likes of Grandma Joy inspire Americans, and ready to turn their bucket lists into real-life memories, one trail at a time.
