Amazon MGM Studios is adapting Elle Kennedy’s best-selling book series Off-Campus into a TV show
Season 1 will star Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright as Garrett and Hannah
Off Campus will be available to stream on Prime Video
The Briar University hockey team is headed Off Campus and onto Prime Video.
In October 2024, Amazon MGM Studios announced that the best-selling book series Off-Campus, written by Elle Kennedy, was being adapted for the small screen.
At the time, the author shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “I’m beyond thrilled to finally announce that @amazonmgmstudios and Temple Hill are developing the Off-Campus series for television. That’s right, the Briar universe is coming to your screens!”
Kennedy’s series consists of five books, each following the Briar University hockey players as they navigate the relationships, heartbreak and self-discovery of early adulthood. Much like Bridgerton, each season of the show will feature a different love story, starting with Garrett, who will be played by Belmont Cameli.
In May 2025, the series announced the full cast, including Garrett’s on-screen love interest, Hannah (who will be played by Ella Bright), per Deadline. The casting announcement also included the other male leads to follow Garrett as they appear in the first novel as his teammates.
From the cast to plot details, here’s what we know so far about the Off Campus series adaptation.

Off-Campus is a college-age romance book series that follows Briar University’s elite ice hockey team as they navigate their romantic interests and personal relationships.
The Prime Video adaptation will follow the order of the books, meaning that season 1 will be based on The Deal, which was published in 2015. It follows the unlikely love story between hockey-hating music major Hannah and star of the team Garrett.
In the book, Hannah tries to get the attention of her longtime crush Justin — a college rock band singer — by tutoring the captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date. But tensions quickly rise between Hannah and Garrett, and the hockey player soon realizes that he might not want their relationship to be fake after all.
Subsequent seasons of Off Campus, the show, will presumably follow the other books, The Mistake, The Score, The Goal and The Legacy (a novella compiling stories from all of the couples).
The Off-Campus book series has sold approximately 3 million copies on Amazon across 24 markets, per Deadline.

Cameli, who starred in Peacock’s Saved by the Bell and 2025’s Until Dawn, will lead the first season of Off Campus as Garrett. He’ll do so alongside Bright, who will appear as Hannah. She is best known for 2018’s Holmes & Watson and Malory Towers, and also portrayed a young Kate Middleton in The Crown.
Following his May 6 casting announcement, Cameli joked on Instagram, “It’s official!!! I have been drafted #1 overall by the Boston Bruins!! 🏒🥅.”
Meanwhile, his future on-screen love interest Bright wrote on Instagram that she “couldn’t be more excited.”
Josh Heuston, who previously appeared in the Australian Netflix series Heartbreak High, will play Justin, Hannah’s longtime crush.
The cast of hockey players is rounded out by several up-and-coming stars who will all presumably get their turn in the spotlight in subsequent seasons, including Antonio Cipriano as Logan, Jalen Thomas Brooks as Tucker and Stephen Kalyn as Dean.
Cipriano previously appeared in Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, while Brooks is known for 2023’s Thanksgiving and a recurring role in Max’s The Pitt. Meanwhile, Kalyn appeared in 2023’s Cascade and will also be in season 2 of The Boys spinoff Gen V, which is slated to be released on Prime Video sometime in 2025.
Mika Abdalla, best known for her roles in 2024’s Snack Shack and a recurring role in Max’s The Pitt, will play Allie, Dean’s future love interest.

In October 2024, Deadline announced that Louisa Levy, who wrote a few episodes of Hulu’s Death and Other Details, would serve as showrunner for Off Campus. In her October 2024 Instagram post, Kennedy shared her excitement about Levy’s role, writing, “I cannot wait to see our showrunner bring the series to life!”
On May 6, Deadline reported that Gina Fattore — who was an executive producer for a few episodes of hit shows Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek — would join Levy as co-showrunner of Off Campus.
