Demi Lovato married Jordan “Jutes” Lutes over the weekend, and looked absolutely stunning in an off-the-shoulder corseted gown from Vivienne Westwood. I mean, the pics!!
But fans noticed that the dress is similar to an equally gorgeous gown that Miley Cyrus wore to marry Liam Hemsworth.
However, please be advised that they are not the same dress! This is a classic Vivienne Westwood silhouette, but there are some key differences. For starters, People reported back in 2018 that Miley’s dress was made-to-order and retailed for $8,600.
Meanwhile, Demi’s dress was custom made by the brand.
“When I was thinking about what dress style I wanted, I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs—specifically how the silhouettes really complement the curves of your body and her use of corsets,” the singer told Vogue, adding that a previously-existing Vivienne Westwood gown served as the starting point and that “We were not only able to work off that [initial] inspiration, but we added touches that really make this dress so special to me. I love everything about the dress.”
Apparently, designing the dress was a hands-on process which included, per Vogue “mixing and matching top and skirt options” and “honing in on each element” of the design and construction. Point is: this gown was made for Demi and Demi only, but it’s a popular silhouette for a reason! In fact, Hailey Bieber also wore a version of the design to her rehearsal dinner:
