Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, the reality TV star known for her role in Jersey Shore, has publicly announced that she has been diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer. In a TikTok video, Snooki shared her diagnosis and emphasized the importance of regular pap smear exams for early detection and treatment.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, better known as “Snooki,” revealed she has stage one cervical cancer on social media. In a TikTok video posted Feb. 20, the “Jersey Shore” star, 38, said doctors detected adenocarcinoma early after a pap smear exam.
“Obviously not the news that I was hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God, and that’s why I’m literally telling you guys to get your pap smears done,” she said in the video she posted to help other women with similar journeys or health anxieties feel seen.
The mother of three said doctors removed a chunk of her cervix with the tumor, and the area around the tumor did not have cancer cells. She does not have to undergo chemotherapy, adding, “Nobody wants to do that.”
Polizzi said she has an upcoming PET scan that will detect if the cancer spread anywhere in the body, including her lymph nodes and will likely receive a hysterectomy.
“So 2026 is not panning out how I wanted it to, but also, could be worse, could be very much worse,” she said in the video. “So even though it’s not the news that I wanted to get, and I still have to do further things to get rid of this, I just feel like it’s very common in women.”
Snooki shows support for women with similar stories
Polizzi encouraged people with similar experiences to comment below to show solidarity and thanked those who have shown support throughout her journey.
“We are a community of women, and there’s literally no platform or anywhere where women are talking about this. Because a lot of women go through it silently without anyone to talk to, and they’re scared by themselves. And that was me,” she added.
The reality TV personality previously opened up about feeling uncomfortable undergoing pap smear examinations.
Snooki’s revelation serves as a reminder of the importance of regular health check-ups and screenings for early detection and treatment of cervical cancer. As she continues her journey, her openness and encouragement for others to prioritize their health are commendable.
