Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op is set to continue expanding throughout the U.S., with plans to open three new stores by the end of the summer.
Locations will offer outdoor recreation gear and apparel as well as a full-service bike shop. Stores in cold weather locations will have seasonal ski and snowboard shops, according to a press release initially announcing the locations.
The locations were chosen for cities near outdoor recreation landmarks, REI vice president of stores Mary-Farrell Tarbox said in the press release.
“Cities that will have new stores represent communities that serve as a gateway to some of the country’s most incredible natural places and where our members currently live or destinations where they love to play outside,” Tarbox said.
