It’s been almost a year since audiences first witnessed the sprawling comedy love story featured in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This.
An unconventional meet-cute romcom starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, Nobody Wants This earned instant renown with the 2024 debut of its inaugural season, most especially for its heart, humor and natural chemistry between its two lead cast members.
With its first season garnering significant traction among mainstream audiences, it’s fair to say anticipation is at an all-time high for the Netflix series’ second season.
Set to debut on October 23 of this year, Netflix has recently provided a tantalizing first look at the show’s highly anticipated second outing, according to new photos released by the streaming provider (as reported by Deadline).
The new images find the main characters engaging in all kinds of adorable activities together, hinting that Joanne and Noah’s attraction to one another will only continue to blossom into the next season.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, series creator Erin Foster and Season 2 showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan hinted at some new directions the show might take in the upcoming season, including a deeper emphasis on Joanne and Noah’s friends and family members, like like Joanne’s sister Morgan (Justine Lupe), Noah’s brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) and his wife Esther (Jackie Tohn).
“Like any show, the second season is when you really start to develop your characters,” Konner told Vanity Fair. “So we develop Esther more and show why she behaves that way, and see her other sides.”
Yet even then, both Konner and Kaplan reassured fans that they weren’t going to make any radical changes for the series heading into its second season.
“No one is trying to reinvent anything,” Konner said. “We’re not going to shoot in black and white this year, or do a musical.”
