Netflix Puts One Show On ‘Indefinite Pause’ originally appeared on Parade.

No news is good news, at least for the Netflix original series, No Good Deed.

After months of waiting to find out whether or not the series will be renewed for a second season, Netflix has placed the series on an “indefinite pause,” according to a Deadline exclusive.

The series, created by Liz Feldman, who also helmed the hit Netflix dark comedy, Dead to Me, premiered late last year. While Netflix has decided the fate of shows that debuted months after No Good Deed, it’s still unclear whether or not the series will be picked up for its sophomore season.

Feldman is said to have created the series with an anthology format in mind, and while each season would be a standalone story, a couple of characters would return from one season to the next, a la The White Lotus.

For viewers of No Good Deed, the season finale seemed to clearly establish the mystery that would unfold across the show’s second season. However, Netflix has yet to give Feldman and her team the green light to move forward with the series’ next installment.

As frustrating as no news can be, it’s better than an outright cancelation. Netflix also axed two other freshman series, Pulse and The Residence, both of which debuted to mixed reviews.

While No Good Deed fans wait to find out the fate of their beloved show, they can rest assured that Netflix has already renewed a handful of other popular first season series. Man On the Inside, Ransom Canyon, Running Point, The Four Seasons, Beauty In Black, Forever, and North of North are all returning to Netflix for their second seasons.
