NASCAR Truck Series driver Stewart Friesen was injured in a dirt modified car crash on Monday night.

According to his wife Jessica, Friesen suffered “an unstable/open-book pelvic fracture, meaning his pelvis is broken in two or more places” and there is a large hematoma on his pelvis. Additionally, Friesen suffered a fractured right leg.

Friesen will undergo surgery for both of the injuries. He was racing at the Autodrome Drummond in Quebec, Canada, on Monday night.

Friesen, 42, is currently 13th in the Truck Series points standings. He won in June at Michigan International Speedway and has three top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes through the first 16 races of the season.

The win at Michigan got Friesen into the Truck Series playoffs, though his championship hopes are all but over because of his injuries. Friesen finished 12th in each of the past two seasons after finishing sixth in both 2021 and 2022. His best career Truck Series points finish came in 2019 when he made the championship race at Homestead and finished fourth.

Overall, the Canada native has four career Truck Series wins in 200 starts across 10 seasons. He made his lone Cup Series start in 2021 in the Bristol dirt race when he finished 23rd.
