My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore just welcomed a new family member—and she shared an adorable video with her fans.
On May 8, the TLC personality took to Instagram to introduce the newest addition, a Persian kitten named Machete.

“Thore, Machete 🔪 Sex: Male D.O.B.: 02.08.2025,” Thore revealed in her update.
Additionally, she noted that her new cat weighs 1 pound, 3 ounces and was adopted on May 3.
“Proclivities: to be determined,” she concluded.
In the accompanying video, the ginger kitten blinked sleepily while poking out of the top of Thore’s shirt as she made him “dance” by moving his front paw to the beat of music playing in the background.

Instagram followers practically swooned from cuteness overload as they enthusiastically welcomed Thore’s furry friend in the comments.
One fan declared, “What a precious ball of floof! Congratulations! 🍾.”

In January, Thore announced the death of her 17-year-old cat, Henchi, on Instagram.
“I came home today after three weeks away and spent just a few hours with my sweetest boy when he suddenly became ill,” she explained. “He died in my arms an hour ago.”
Thore continued, “He was the most faithful companion to me for the last 17 years and every day I was so overcome with love and affection for him as if it were the first day I ever knew him,” Thore continued. “From the day I got him from a little pet shop in Korea he has brought me nothing but so much joy. I love you, Henchi.”
Nothing can replace a beloved pet—but hopefully, Thore’s newest feline friend brings her a ton of happiness. Congrats to her on her newest addition!
