Most say Trump hasn’t paid enough attention to key issues: Survey

Most Americans say President Trump isn’t prioritizing the most important issues facing the country, according to the latest CNN/SSRS poll.

In the survey, conducted over the weekend, 63 percent of respondents said Trump hasn’t paid enough attention to today’s problems, compared to 37 percent who said Trump has the right priorities.

That’s a slight change from early March, when 57 percent said Trump wasn’t prioritizing the right issues and 43 percent said he was.

In mid-February, the gap was even narrower, with 55 percent saying Trump was focusing on the wrong problems and 45 percent saying he had the right priorities.

In the latest poll, three-quarters of Republicans surveyed said Trump has the right priorities, down from March, when 87 percent said Trump was prioritizing the right issues.

Democrats have also seen a drop, from 11 percent saying Trump had the right priorities in March to 4 percent this month.

Independents, however, have seen little change from March, when 32 percent said Trump had the right priorities. In the recent poll, that level was at 31 percent.

The survey included 1,057 respondents and was conducted July 10-13. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.
