Monty Python star Michael Palin came out for a rare public appearance on May 6 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England, to support his friendDavid Attenborough and the new documentary Ocean With David Attenborough.
The comedian looked great in an elegant double-breasted suit with a bowtie as he smiled and posed on the blue carpet. Palin has made occasional appearances in the wake of his wife Helen Gibbins‘ death in 2023, but he’s not often in the spotlight.

In the United Kingdom, Ocean With David Attenborough is set to premiere on Attenborough’s 99th birthday on May 8. It will debut on National Geographic on June 7, with global streaming on Disney+ and Hulu the next day.
Also at the movie premiere were Hilary and Michael Whitehall, Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar, James Blunt, Cara Delevingne, Felicity Jonesand more.
The 82-year-old actor is well-known as a member of the comedy group Monty Python, which also includes John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Terry Gilliam. Chapman died in 1989, while Jones passed away in 2020.
Palin’s wife died on May 2, 2023, with the actor sharing the news in a statement. The couple first met when they were 16 years old, and they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary shortly before Gibbins’ death.
