It’s been a few months since Mishael Morgan last graced the screen on The Young and the Restless, but the actress is set to reprise her role as Amanda Sinclar on May 16. Once Sinclar returns, the question is will Genoa City ever be the same.
Morgan spoke with TVInsider about what brings her alter-ego back to town. The actress shared, “Well, she’s always representing somebody, and she represents high-powered people in society. So, Amanda’s coming back to represent somebody very mysterious, definitely high-powered, and she’s going to make some waves while she’s there.”
The actress last appeared on the soap in 2024, after dropping off contract and going recurring in 2022. Discussing this change of status Morgan explained, “Every time I keep thinking it’s done, Y&R will have this amazing way of being like, ‘Hey, come back in and do a little bit more.’ That’s always such a pleasure and such an honor to come back, and it means a lot. Being an actor and your world being so unstable, sometimes it’s good to know that you have something that’s grounding and that they see your worth, and they’re willing to find ways to keep you alive in the story.”
Discussing what it’s like to return to the role after a long time off, the actress shared, “It’s surprisingly easy to slip back into Amanda,” the actress continued, “Even though I’m gone for a long time, every time I come back, I want to allow the fans to see a little bit more of who she is, and how she’s evolving and changing. Things are happening off camera — her mom has passed away, she has this new job, so there is a lot of growth happening for her.”
Morgan took to Instagram to share a preview of her costuming, sharing “Starting my week in this suite! Love a good power suit! Who’s it giving?! #whoamI#YR”
In the video Morgan in w white power suit shared, “Okay, this suit is giving me something, it’s getting me in my lawyer mode, who do you think this is giving? You let me know, pretty sure you will know. Let me go put on my white hat.”
Cortney Hope took to her comments to share “It’s giving Zendaya last night from the Met Gala 🔥😍” , to which Morgan responded “omg! It’s giving that too! Hahah”
