If you’ve ever wondered how to soften a black leather look, take a note from Miley Cyrus’s fashion book.
On Friday, Cyrus kicked off Tribeca Film Festival activities at the annual Chanel “Through Her Lens” luncheon, in partnership with the New York-based festival which celebrates current women in film and the future generations.
The “Flowers” singer appeared on the red carpet outside of the luncheon’s venue, Locanda Verde, clad in an all-black, head-to-toe Chanel look. Perfect for a warm day in New York, Cyrus sported a black leather vest styled over a layered pleated skirt, transparent black tights and chic Mary Jane heels. The Grammy winner completed her look with tiny gold hoop earrings and a classic Chanel clutch.
On the carpet, Cyrus reunited with SVU star Mariska Hargitay after hanging out the night prior at Vanity Fair’s Directors Dinner. Cyrus greeted Hargitay with a warm hug along with the singer’s mother, Tish Cyrus.
The three posted together on the red carpet before heading inside the event where they mingled with guests such as Olivia Munn, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Riley Keough, Lucy Liu, and more.
Following the event, Miley expressed her appreciation for the Chanel and Tribeca “Through Her Lens” program as well as her admiration for Hargitay and her new documentary, My Mom Jane.
“Celebrating the @chanelofficial and @tribeca Through Her Lens program. Showing love to filmmakers telling important stories & bravely sharing them with the world. Getting to know @therealmariskahargitay has been a highlight of my experience,” Cyrus captioned an Instagram post featuring a series of images from the luncheon. “Her mother Jayne Mansfield has been an influence on me and my career since I was a young girl, but now as a woman I respect them both so much deeper. Looking forward to “My Mom Jayne.” It was so special to spend today with my mama another impactful woman in the film industry. @tishcyruspurcell.”

The “Easy Lover” singer has spent the last few weeks promoting her new album in a slew of fashion-forward, pop-rock looks. Celebrations for Something Beautiful continue tonight with the Tribeca premiere of the star’s accompanying pop-opera of the same name, where Cyrus is sure to bring out her red carpet best for the special occasion.
