Miley Cyrus’s highly anticipated album Something Beautiful is just weeks away from its release on May 30. Ahead of the album drop, the singer made a striking return to one of the most high-profile red carpet events of the year: the Met Gala. Cyrus stood out in a midriff-bearing Alaia leather top, black skirt, and Cartier jewelry, perfectly embodying the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme of the night.
Cyrus last attended the event in 2019, accompanied by her then-husband Liam Hemsworth. She made her Met Gala debut back in 2013, marking the beginning of her red carpet journey.
The singer gave her last major interview in November 2024, where she opened up about her upcoming project Something Beautiful in Harper’s Bazaar. She described the album as “hypnotizing and glamorous,” offering a glimpse into the bold new direction she’s taking with her music.
“It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music,” Cyrus told the outlet. She envisions Something Beautiful as her take on Pink Floyd’s The Wall—“but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.”
Cyrus also opened up about her relationship with fame during the interview, revealing that she’s stepped away from social media. “It’s probably really hard coming into this business with phones and Instagram,” she said, reflecting on the experience of today’s stars. “That wasn’t always a part of my life, and I’m not a part of it now. I don’t even have my Instagram password.”
Being a child star has had a profound impact on Cyrus’s life, influencing the relationships she has today. She admitted, “For who I am as a person, yes, I feel like I can connect to people and I feel like I’m a friend to all. But because of how I’ve grown up, sometimes people make it harder. I can drop my persona really easily, but it’s hard for other people to erase that part of you.”
