The MomToker, 25, recently received backlash from commenters after attempting the viral Nicki Minaj stiletto challenge while holding newborn daughter Lottie.
Since sharing the initial video, the mom of four defended her TikToks and responded to criticism in posts shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, August 9.
Sharing a photo of herself balancing on the step stool, she noted that the stool only brought her 5 inches off the ground. “What actually happened…” she wrote on the photo.

It was followed by that same shot of Mikayla photoshopped on a tightrope that’s on fire with a pit of sharks swimming below her. There, she wrote, “Vs. what everyone saw..”
While this trend has recently taken TikTok by storm, a recent mishap for one influencer has brought it into question. Following influencer Mariana Vasiuc’s fall while attempting the viral challenge as a postpartum mom, she sustained a spinal injury and raised conversation about the dangers of trying the daring balancing act.
Mikayla had also replied to a commenter lobbing criticism at the decision. The Instagram comment read, “Why does everyone think this is ok… if she fell her newborn would be seriously hurt.. bizarre behaviour just for the clicks.”
“I think it’s cause it’s my body and I know what I am capable of doing 🫶🏼,” the postpartum mom wrote in response.
Mikayla and husband Jace Terry, 30, welcomed Lottie on July 17. They are also parents to daughters Tommie, 3, and Haven, 5½, and son Beckham, 8.
