Stafford took to Instagram to pay tribute to her on-screen daughter, saying, “This Girl! What can I say about you? You walked into this role and immediately made it your own. The only unfortunate thing is most of the time and in particular during the first year and a half, our characters were at odds 😊 Lots of fighting on screen… But man, you jumped in and killed EVERY SINGLE DAY. You are an extraordinary actress. What a pleasure for me to work with you. Truly a pleasure. You are a CONSUMMATE professional. I have no doubt we will be seeing you on the screen sooner than later. I completely believe in you. Thank you for inhabiting the character so thoroughly. I truly felt like I had a real daughter in you. Go out there and soar, you gorgeous girl. I absolutely 100% know you will ❤️ Thank you for the pleasure @allisonvlanier”

Allison Lanier confirmed her departure from the long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Lanier stated, “Hi guys!! This Friday, May 2nd, will be my last episode on Y&R! I’ve loved the journey and learned so much but it’s time to grow in a different direction… very grateful for all of the Y&R fans who have supported me <3”

Lanier joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in May 2022 as Summer Newman. Summer is the daughter of Phyllis and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). For her performance she was nominated in 2024 at the Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

In addition to The Young and the Restless, Lanier’s roles include It Happened in LA as Megan. She had a recurring role in the Amazon streaming series Red Oaks as Annabelle (in season 3). She also appeared in Fish Bones as Bella, and portrayed Anna in the independent film Mia.

Allison grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to New York City after high school to pursue a career in acting and modeling. While in New York, she studied at the legendary William Esper Studio.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS at 12:30 p.m. ET, and streams weekdays on Paramount+.
