Daytime’s newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates, drew on the Met Gala experience and took to social media to highlight costume designer Jeresa Featherstone’s work.

In honor of the 2025 Met Gala theme “Superfine: Black Tailoring Style,” the soap partnered with Featherstone to share some of her favorite looks from the season thus far.
Accompanying a photo of Tamara Tunie’s Anita Dupree in an elegant red coat with Clifton Davis’s Vernon Dupree right next to her in his black suit, Featherstone said, “Let’s take a look at some of our favorite suiting moments from what has aired so far!”
In another image highlighting couple styling, Mike Manning’s Smitty in a burgundy suit with his husband Brandon Claybon’s Martin Richardson in an all-black suit, Featherstone noted, “The contributions and influences of African Americans in fashion are evident in our show.”
Two photos- one of Maurice Johnson’s Ted Richardson and his on-screen wife Daphnée Duplaix’s NicoleRichardson is accompanied by a second photo of Anita and Nicole from the first episode. Featherstone shared, “I am intentional about featuring renowned black fashion designers and brands across the diaspora.”
“Such as Kevan Hall, Sergio Hudson, Miguel Wilson, Koss Atelier, Richemnlooks, Ella Lisque, etc.” Featherstone shared along with a picture of Tamara Tunie, Laura Buglioli, Marquita Tenaya and Sean Freeman.

Featherstone’s work has not gone unnoticed, the designer has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding costume design for a Daytime Drama in 2019, 2020 and took home the win in 2024.
Beyond the Gates, which normally airs weekdays, will be preempted by UEFA Champions League Today. This will be followed by the UEFA Champions League semi-final soccer match between Inter Milan and FC Barcelona. The UEFA Champions League is an annual club soccer competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations.
Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS at 2 p.m. ET, and streams weekdays on Paramount+
