Wynonna Earp may have ridden off into the sunset, but that doesn’t mean viewers have seen the last of Melanie Scrofano’s titular gunslinger.
During a visit to Entertainment Weekly‘s Comic-Con video studio, the actress says she has “all the faith in the world” that the supernatural drama could return in the future, thanks to the passion of its fans and one dedicated TV executive.
“I don’t think it’s ever dead,” Scrofano muses while promoting her new series Revival. “Listen — truthfully, I don’t know anything. What I know for sure is that the fans are still fighting for it, which is awesome. It’s amazing… and really so moving and inspiring.”
Starring Scrofano as the demon-slaying great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, Wynonna Earp ended its four-season run in 2021 and returned for a 90-minute special, Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, last year on Tubi.
According to Scrofano, it’s a certain TV executive’s continued love of the show that really makes her believe in the possibility of more Wynonna Earp.
“I know that our executive, if he could bring us back tomorrow, he would,” she says. “Sometimes the fans are excited about something but you don’t have the people up top. The second it can [return], it will, and I feel very at peace with that knowledge, that one of our biggest fans is an executive. So I have all the faith in the world that whatever can be done, will be.”
Fans will recall that Wynonna Earp ended with Wynonna leaving her hometown of Purgatory behind to hit the road with her beau, Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon). In addition, fan-favorite couple Nicole (Katherine Barrell) and Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) got married.

The 90-minute revival special picked up about 18 months after the events of the season 4 finale, with Wynonna getting called back home to help fight a new evil: her former social worker Mina (Karen Knox), now a demonic force seeking revenge. Wynonna ultimately trapped Mina in a magical prison but in doing so lost her beloved gun, Peacemaker, and Doc, the man she loved.
