Meghan Markle commemorated Mother’s Day by posting a new picture with her kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, which seemingly featured a hidden symbol with a deep meaning for their family.
“Happy Mother’s Day! Cheers to juggling it all with joy!” the Duchess of Sussex, 43, began the caption of the Instagram post she shared on May 11. The snap captured from behind showed her holding son Prince Archie, 6, on one hip, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3, on the other, on a balcony overlooking palm trees.
Meghan and Prince Harry moved to her home state of California after stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020 and settled in the Santa Barbara enclave of Montecito, and her latest social media post appeared to have been taken at their home. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that two palm trees on the property caught Prince Harry’s eye when they were house hunting.
“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees. See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, “‘My love, it’s us,’ ” Meghan said then.
“And now, every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa,’ ” she added.
The Duchess of Sussex wove the meaningful motif into the logo for her lifestyle brand As ever, which she unveiled in February. The crest incorporates a palm tree as a nod to Harry and Meghan’s home in California, flanked by two hummingbirds — a favorite of Prince Harry’s and a tribute to him, an insider previously told said.

“The distinct shape enclosing the birds and tree was intentionally designed to create a unique and personal emblem,” said the insider.
In his memoir Spare, published in 2023, Prince Harry speculated if there was a spiritual significance to finding a hummingbird in the house following the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.
“Soon after our return [from the Queen’s funeral], a hummingbird got into the house,” Harry wrote in Spare. “I had a devil of a time guiding it out…Then a mate said: Could be a sign, you know? … Visitors, as it were. Aztecs thought them reincarnated warriors. Spanish explorers called them ‘resurrection birds.’ “
The Duke of Sussex, 40, said the hummingbird piqued his interest as it soared around the kitchen and over the playpen “we call Lili Land” for his daughter.
“I thought hopefully, greedily, foolishly: Is our house a detour — or a destination?” Harry wrote about the moment.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet held Meghan close in the picture she posted on Mother’s Day, where she wrote about how much her kids mean to her.
“And to these two gems — who still attempt to climb ‘mama mountain’, smother me with kisses, and make every day the most memorable adventure…. being your mom is the greatest privilege of my life ❤️,” she continued her caption.
“I, too, ‘love you more than all the stars in all the sky, all the raindrops, and all the salt on all the french fries in all the world.”
