Meghan Markle Shares Update About Her Jam Product

Meghan posted an update about her As Ever products in her lifestyle brand newsletter.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed that by Spring this year, she would have several items up for sale, including her raspberry jam and ginger tea blend.

She said, “Of course, you’ll find the Raspberry Spread that started it all, presented in keepsake packaging that you can repurpose to tick away love notes or special treasures, and to remember this pivotal moment with me”

“Think of it as our time capsule,” Meghan added, per the Daily Mail.

The former actress also gave her potential buyers a tip on what to do with the jam jars when it gets empty, writing that they could “rinse the jar and use it as a small bud vase for flowers on your nightstand, or to hold your pens on your desk.”

The Packaging Of The Duchess’s Jam Stunned Netizens Online

Meghan’s announcement comes after she left fans on social media shocked due to the style of packaging of her jam jars.

The jars come in a bigger cylindrical white case which is more than double the size of the actual product. Speaking about the packaging, netizens noted how it seemed more fitting for a “perfume” or “candle” rather than jam.

People also expressed worry about the need for such a packaging and what could cost on the environment.

One person wrote, “How much does the cost of the packaging add to the spread ? It’s not jam,” while another said, “Meghan!!!!!!! It’s just jam! It doesn’t require an entire presentation. This packaging is as pretentious as she is.”

A third individual noted, “I was like, no it can’t be, she wouldn’t do that for jam, it must be a nice candle, maybe a bracelet, no, it’s f-ckin jam, brilliant.”

Meghan’s product announcemnt comes weeks after the release of her highly-anticipated Netflix cooking show, “With Love, Meghan.”

The first season featured eight 33-minute-long episodes in which Meghan, alongside various guests, shared lifestyle advice from a luxurious $8 million (£5 million) rental home near Montecito.

Meghan announced the news of her show renewal via social media on her Instagram Stories: “I’m thrilled to share that season 2 of With Love, Meghan is coming!”

Several bad reviews that followed the release of Meghan’s series came from multiple top media outlets and publications, including the Hollywood bible Variety.

Variety described it as “a Montecito ego trip not worth taking,” adding that it “plays out like a forced march,” where Meghan’s guests were seemingly compelled to “praise her first” as the “price of getting to share an afternoon in a made-for-TV kitchen.”

The Blast‘s Kristin Myers gave a strong analysis of the show, criticizing Meghan for being “hilariously out of touch,” especially after urging viewers to reach out to their local beekeepers so they could create their own candles.

The Guardian also panned the series as a “ghastly artifact of a particular cultural era that recently met its apocalypse.”

Netflix’s CEO Ted Sarandos recently defended the Duchess of Sussex, stating that she has been “underestimated.”

In an interview with Variety, Sarandos discussed the future of Netflix and its ongoing partnership with the Sussexes following their $100 million deal with the streaming giant in 2020.

“I think Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture,” Sarandos said.

He continued, “When we dropped the trailer for the Harry & Meghan doc series [in 2022], everything on-screen was dissected in the press for days. The shoes she was wearing sold out all over the world. The Hermès blanket that was on the chair behind her sold out everywhere in the world.”
