Megan Thee Stallion’s ex boyfriend, Tony Lanez, has been rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in prison, according to TMZ. Per the report, Lanez was stabbed by another inmate at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi.
Shortly after the news was reported, some fans went over to Instagram to comment on Lanez’s most recent post, uploaded on May 8 by someone close to him.
“Stay strong Tory….” one person wrote.
“Praying that you are okay! FREE TORY,” someone else said.
A third Instagram user dropped a string of praying hands emoji in the comments section.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after he was convicted of shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020 at the home of reality star Kylie Jenner. Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty on three felony charges in December 2022. His lawyers have filed an appeal in the case.
During the trial Megan Thee Stallion, who suffered injuries to her feet, testified for the prosecution in the case.
“I can’t hold conversations with people for a long time. I don’t feel like I want to be on this earth. I wish he would have just shot and killed me, if I knew I would have to go through this torture,” she told the jury, according to NPR.
In January 2025, NBC News reported that Megan Thee Stallion’s restraining order against Lanez has been extended through 2030. She claims that “Lanez is coordinating attacks on Megan’s credibility, including making false claims that the gun and bullet fragments in the case are missing,” which is why she filed to have that restraining order extended.
