Megan Thee Stallion might get a “warning” when it comes to her phone usage at the 2025 Met Gala.
The “Roc Steady” hitmaker shared a behind-the-scenes look with her “hottie cam” at the event, and may have broken one of its biggest policies: using her phone (and social media).
In the Instagram video she shared on Monday, May 5, Megan could be seen trying out different hors d’oeuvres from inside the event at a table with Doechii and Angel Reese. The trio toasted each time they sampled items like “cornbread and caviar,” “white truffle lobster roll” and “vegan lox.”
Elsewhere in the video, the 30-year-old rapper admitted with a laugh, “We’re not supposed to have our phones, but we’re doing it [anyway].” In an additional clip, Megan told another Met Gala attendee, “I snuck my phone in.”
More clips showed Megan sharing a toast at her table and interacting with other prominent guests including Lupita Nyong’o, whom she called “beautiful.” She also complimented Serena Williams as “gorgeous,” and admitted to the athlete that she “snuck” her phone in.

Near the end of the video, Megan hyped up Ciara in the latter’s black-and-silver gown by LaQuan Smith. She asked the “Goodies” singer to show off her dress and even zoomed in to get a better look at the detailing.
“Hottie Cam in thee MET GALA 👀😏,” she captioned the video.

Megan might not have been the only one to have broken this Met Gala rule, as Halle Bailey, Sydney Sweeney and Lisa were also snapped taking a photo together inside the venue — another big no-no.
Other culprits seemingly included Angela Bassett and Yara Shahidi, who were photographed posing for a selfie taken by Bassett, 66.

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, who has been at the helm of the Met Gala as either chair or co-chair since 1995, famously discourages attendees from sharing insight into what takes place inside the hallowed halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, asking the stars to refrain from using their phones or revealing too much about the night itself.
According to Vogue, “Guests must abide by a no-phone (and, therefore, no social media) policy once they’ve entered the museum,” as they noted that what happens during the event is “kept largely under wraps.”
“But the run-of-show involves cocktails, dinner … and a high-profile performer (or two). Attendees also always have a moment to explore the exhibition,” the outlet said. Other rules include the fact that guests have to abide by their seating arrangements and aren’t allowed to smoke inside.
Vogue has not shared what consequences are for celebrities who break protocol, though it has been rumored that they risk getting banned from the high-profile event if they do not follow the rules.
