McDonald’s debuted a special McFlurry flavor but Americans can’t get in on the fun quite yet.
The fast food chain giant recently launched its Birthday Cake McFlurry in Canada ahead of the dessert classic’s 30th anniversary next month.
The sweet treat combines vanilla soft serve with frosted cake-flavored confetti cookie dough pieces and birthday cake syrup, according to McDonald’s. The regular size comes with a total of 680 calories while the snack size totals 440.
The McFlurry was invented three decades ago in Bathurst, New Brunswick, launching on June 7, 1995.

Earlier this year, the company launched a limited-time “’95 McFlurry” in Ontario as part of a collaboration with the Toronto Raptors amid the basketball team’s 30th anniversary. The item fused the team’s purple and red colors with vanilla soft serve, red popping candy and blueberry flavored syrup.
Is the Birthday Cake McFlurry available in the U.S.?
The Birthday Cake McFlurry flavor is currently not available in the U.S.
As of May 13, American customers only have access to the staple Oreo and M&M flavors, as a Birthday Cake McFlurry U.S. launch date had not yet been announced.
USA TODAY has reached out to McDonald’s for comment.
Last year McDonald’s unveiled two special flavors for limited time, including a Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry and a Grandma McFlurry.
The Grandma McFlurry featured syrup and chopped candy pieces while the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry blended real banana and strawberry clusters with chocolatey Kat Kat wafer pieces.
