Max Verstappen is a dad!
The Formula One driver, 27, welcomed his first baby, a daughter named Lily, with girlfriend Kelly Piquet, announcing the exciting news with a joint post on Instagram. While this is Verstappen and Piquet’s first child together, the 36-year-old Brazilian model, who’s daughter of three-time F1 champion Nelson Piquet, has a daughter, Penelope, 5, from a previous relationship with Russian F1 driver ex Daniil Kvyat.
“Welcome to the world, sweet Lily 🌸 Our hearts are fuller than ever – you are our greatest gift. We love you so much 💗.”
Many people showed their love and excitement for the new bundle of joy in the comments, including the newly minted dad’s sister, Victoria Verstappen, who wrote, “Can’t wait to meet 🩷🥹.”
Fellow drivers Daniel Abt and Robert Doornbos also showed their support for the new addition to the family. “Congratulations 🥰🤍” Abt wrote. Echoing his sentiments, Doornbos commented, “Congrats with your beautiful little princes Lily 🩷”

Though Verstappen rarely shares his personal life on Instagram, Kelly regularly posts photos of herself with her beau. She’s called him “the love of my life,” and she often boasts about her pride in his success.
The couple first announced that they were expecting their first baby together in December 2024. In a joint post on Instagram, the couple shared a black-and-white photo of them placing their hands on Piquet’s growing baby belly.
“Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way ❤️,” they wrote. “We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle 💫”

After the couple announced they were expecting, Piquet expressed her happiness for the new bundle of joy.
“Cannot express how happy we are,” Kelly wrote, as she thanked her friends and followers for “all the sweet warm messages.”
She also took time to express her support to women hoping to have a child themselves.
“I understand how these announcements can be challenging for those who are longing for a child,” Kelly wrote. “While such news is often a joyous occasion, it can also evoke feelings of sadness, frustration or longing in those who are struggling with this. If that’s you, I’m sending all my love, my deepest hugs and magic your way.”
