You’d hardly recognize Chicago P.D. star Marina Squerciati in her latest Instagram photos, but that’s just because she’s a bit busy being “the coolest mom” ever.
The beloved actress dressed up as Princess Peach—wig and all—to celebrate her eldest’s birthday, which also involved a homemade Mario Kart-themed cake and a few familiar faces.
“Do I lean in for my kid’s birthday? I do! Will she be mortified one day soon? She will! But today was not that day. IT WAS EPIC!” she captioned the snapshots, tagging the venue, Sky Zone Trampoline Park.
She also shouted out Chicago Med alum Nick Gelfuss for “being a good sport and throwing on a Mario hat” for photos, though he’d lost it by the time the duo posed with her P.D. co-star LaRoyce Hawkins.
Squerciati shares two kids with her husband, Eli Kay-Oliphant: a baby born sometime in 2024, along with her daughter, who turns (or turned) 8 around this time. Squerciati keeps a tight lip about her family life, protecting her kids’ privacy while she works in the spotlight, so neither kids’ name or exact date of birth have been released, nor has the gender of her youngest.
