The Queen of Pop has arrived at the 2025 Met Gala.
Madonna graced the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday evening wearing an ivory-toned suit complete with perfectly tailored trousers, a matching snug blazer, and a crisp white button down shirt. It was a particularly pared back look for the iconic pop star who is no stranger to embracing androgynous red carpet fashion, but still in a way remained quintessential Madonna. The star arrived to the Met Gala alongside designer Haider Ackermann and even lit up a cigar as they made their way up the blue-carpet adorned steps.
Madonna’s appearance tonight marks her first return to the Met Gala in almost a decade. Her last appearance was at 2018’s Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination, where she wore a dramatic gothic gown by Jean Paul Gaultier—one of her longtime favorite designers—with a golden grown and jewelry fit for a queen.
While tonight served as Madonna’s return to the Met, that doesn’t mean she’s been absent from the fashion world. Just in the last year the superstar has been intentionally supporting projects close to home in New York City as well as social causes close to her heart. In the last year along she’s popped up at a Luar runway show, appeared at the Mother Daughter Holy Spirit event that fundraised for trans rights, and even took a second to film a viral TikTok with The People’s Gallery breaking down her forever Material Girl style.
